Freed's Bakery began with Milton and Esther Freed in 1959. Today, the bakery is third-generation owned, and it is beloved by locals and tourists alike. The artists of Freed's Bakery create the most outrageous, intricate and entertaining cakes in town. Some of the masterpieces include a giant Cadillac cake for the Viva Las Vegas rockabilly weekend, a cake celebrating a new school made out of books, chalkboards and lockers, and a stunt man's birthday cake illustrating a legendary record jump. Other cakes have been made for Marine Corp veterans, Penn and Teller as they celebrate their Las Vegas show's 25th anniversary, and a local orchard's kickoff for its pumpkin patch.
